Congressional candidate David Pautsch criticized Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks on Monday for quietly changing her voter registration back to Ottumwa after years of claiming residency in Scott County.

“Iowans deserve honesty from their elected officials,” Pautsch said.

Since 2022, Rep. Miller-Meeks registered in Scott County while continuing to reside in Ottumwa. Now, after misleading voters for more than three years, she has switched back, outside the district she represents. That’s not accountability, that’s damage control.

David emphasized the importance of transparency and integrity:

“There’s an old saying: He who is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much. If a leader cannot be truthful about something as basic as where they live, how can we trust them on the bigger issues that affect our families and our nation? If any ordinary Iowan lied about their address on a voter registration form, they could face perjury charges. Why should politicians play by different rules? This is about trust. I live here, I serve here, and I’ll fight for the people who share my community.”

Pautsch’s campaign is built on trustworthiness and Christian values, the foundation for economic growth, family security and affordable healthcare, ensuring Iowa families thrive under leaders who are honest and accountable.
