PREGNANT PERSON: Register fully transitions to Loony Left’s language

The Des Moines Register published a story on Oct. 23 regarding Iowans’ views on the intentional ending of an unborn human being’s life — abortion. But the story about the story isn’t about that. The story about the story is how the Des Moines Register has been given completely over to the Loony Left’s denial of science.

The first three paragraphs of the Register’s story included the same reference:

Paragraph 1: “An overwhelming majority of Iowans want abortion to be legal in the case…to save the pregnant person’s life…”

Paragraph 2: “Eighty-nine percent support legal abortion if the pregnant person’s life is in danger.”

Paragraph 3: “Seventy-five percent support an exception if the pregnant person’s life is at risk.”

At last check, there has never been a pregnant man in human history. Never. Ever. Whether you believe in an old earth or a young earth, there has never been a pregnant man.

Ever.

Knowing how important it is to “save space” and be “succinct” in journalism, woman or women takes up considerably less space than “pregnant person.”

I wasn’t a math major, but a five-letter word seems shorter than a 14-word description of that five-letter word. And considering it is used three times, that adds up to an extra 27 letters used by the Register.

All to placate the insanity of the transgender agenda.

Keep in mind this is the same “newspaper” that refused to print an op-ed by Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds because she used the term “biological boys” instead of children assigned male gender at birth.

I get for most journalists in Iowa you want to work at the Des Moines Register. I understand it is the state’s largest paper and Gannett is a giant company and all of that.

But you’re being required to deny science. You’re being required to reject basic biology. You’re required to go along with a political party’s language.

Perhaps you are held in high regard by the Left, but the average person doesn’t take you seriously when you refuse to use the term biological boys and woman or women instead of children assigned male gender at birth or pregnant person.
