White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre struggled on Monday to explain why unvaccinated individuals are not allowed to fly into the country while unvaccinated illegal immigrants are allowed to stay after walking across the southern border.
Fox News reporter Peter Doocy pressed KJP on the issue during Monday’s White House Press Briefing.
“Somebody unvaccinated comes over on a plane, you say that’s not OK. Somebody walks into Texas or Arizona unvaccinated, they’re allowed to stay, why?” Doocy asked.
“But that’s not how it works,” KJP said.
Doocy said it may not be what the White House wants to happen, but it is what is happening.
“It’s not like somebody walks over,” KJP said.
“That’s exactly what’s happening,” Doocy said.
Jean-Pierre then read what she called the administration’s accomplishments on border security.
