The Iowa Senate debate calendar for Wednesday, March 2 includes a bill that will protect women’s sports by requiring athletes participate in athletics based on their biological sex.

The bill passed the Iowa House last week with all but one Republican supporting the measure. Representative Michael Bergan was the lone Republican to vote against protecting women’s sports.

The bill passed along party lines in committee and will head to the floor for a full vote of the Senate on Wednesday, March 2.
