Iowa’s economy needs to stop relying on the Climate fears of the far Left. Iowa has tied its economy to wind turbines and solar panels paid for by the federal government. Big Tech has made wind and solar a prerequisite for their companies building in Iowa. Our farmers are incentivized to cut carbon by how they plant or what kind of fuel they use. They even have to go through compliance audits to do business with a number of companies that have banded together in this push to “Save the Planet.” Many people on the Left want to see Iowa’s world-class farm ground all returned to native grasses but are OK with thousands upon thousands of acres of solar panels too.
Aren’t saving the planet and making money “good things”? I think we need to rethink what a good thing is by looking down the road a bit further. We all wore masks because it was a “good thing” and now we are looking at travel passports. Allowing people to migrate to our country is a “good thing” except opening our borders has led to chaos.
Being a good steward of the environment is our God-given mandate. Allowing people who fear Climate Change to set the ever-changing line of what is good enough for them is heading down a road we can’t see the end of unless you read the Bible. By following the trail of dollar bill breadcrumbs the Left has laid out Iowa has set policy and gotten a bipartisan bit in their teeth. Our leaders have hailed these environmental goalposts as our economic saviors, have ridiculed President Trump’s words against it and even refused to stand in the face of election fraud.
One retired Republican Representative even laughed heartily and told me that “no Iowa Legislator will EVER stand against wind energy!” Is that true? Are our Iowa lawmakers so tightly bound and gagged?
I watched a documentary by Leftist Michael Moore called Planet of the Humans. It spoke about how little to nothing all these environmental businesses are actually doing to save the environment. The really disturbing part of the film was listening to the elite Left talk about how what we actually “need” is fewer people. How many fewer people? What does the end product look like?
Our forefathers came to this land with little. They built roads, churches and schools with their own money. Now we can hardly afford to keep these things in good repair. We depend on unelected lobbyist to set policy in our favor to funnel federal tax dollars to our state. Why is it when Iowa votes Red that all our policies still lead us to a Blue future? I think we need to be much more discerning of the people that the Iowa establishment offers up for us to vote for.
