Democrat State Rep. Christina Bohannan criticized Republican leadership for passing House File 802, a bill that addresses Critical Race Theory being espoused in trainings as well as K-12 curriculum.

Bohannan took to Twitter and said:

“People of color are being killed in the streets of the US. So what is the GOP leadership in the Iowa legislature doing on racial justice this year? It is passing HF802, a diversity training bill to prevent white people from being stereotyped. Really? Is this the best we can do?

“Under this bill you can’t do training that teaches that ‘the U.S. is systemically racist’ but ‘curriculum’ showing how the legal system has created or contributed to racial discrimination and oppression is permitted. What? What do they think systemic racism IS?”
