From State Rep. Mike Bousselot:

“Polk County Administrator John Norris and the Polk County Board of Supervisors threatening to defund the police via vaccine mandates is bad policy, bad for our community, and just plain wrong. Simply put, a threat of defunding the Sheriff from John Norris and the Polk County Board of Supervisors is a threat to public safety.

I stand with and support Polk County Sheriff Kevin Schneider. He has led the department well and has the most vaccinated employees in all of Polk County Government.

The Legislature reconvenes in January. I will work every day at the Capitol to ensure Sheriff Schneider has the resources his department needs to keep us safe, despite the efforts of Administrator John Norris and the Polk County Board of Supervisors to defund the Sheriff’s Department over vaccine politics.”
