Last week, Congressman Tim Burchett introduced the Trump Tariff Rebate Act (TTRA). The legislation would increase the standard deduction for all taxpaying Americans. By increasing the standard deduction, taxpayers would be placed in lower tax brackets, resulting in lower annual tax obligations. Thanks to President Trump’s tariff revenue, taxes could be lowered through the TTRA.

The Trump Tariff Rebate Act (TTRA) includes the following standard deduction increases for all tax-paying Americans:

  • $4,000 for joint filers and surviving spouses
  • $3,000 for heads of household
  • $2,000 for all other Americans

“When I first decided to run for Congress, one of my top priorities was to ensure that folks spend less of their hard-earned dollars in taxes. That hasn’t changed.” said Rep. Burchett. “The Trump Tariff Rebate Act is simple: lower taxes, and more money in your pocket.”
