During debate Wednesday on the supplemental state aid package Republicans delivered to K-12 schools in Iowa, Rep. Heather Matson (D-Ankeny) spoke against the bill.

The reason her comments are being highlighted is because Matson is the former chair of Planned Parenthood Voters of Iowa.

And here are her comments The Iowa Standard thought are worth highlighting, considering her current support for Planned Parenthood and former role with the abortion giant.

“I’m disappointed by this body choosing not to prioritize our kids,” she said.

“So here I am speaking out again. I’m here to speak up for our kids, and I won’t back down from that. None of us should back down,” she said later.
