Representative Zach Nunn (IA-03) announced his appointment to the bipartisan Congressional-Executive Commission on People’s Republic of China today. The commission consists of nine U.S. Representatives, nine U.S. Senators and five Administration officials. The commission will focus on investigations into China’s violation of basic human rights and work to combat the malign influence of Communism.

“We are facing a monumental and growing threat when it comes to China’s aggression towards our country, other countries, and even their own citizens. It’s long overdue we have a strategy to combat that threat,” said Rep. Nunn. “Since my first day in Congress, I’ve worked to ensure we hold China accountable, and that is exactly what the work on our bipartisan commission will get done. I will fight to ensure we have a long-term, thoughtful, and strategic plan to combat China, especially when it comes to their horrific abuse of human rights and attempts to spread Communism.”

The list of all those announced to serve on the commission for the 118th Congress can be found here.
