U.S. Representative Scott Perry (PA-10) introduced three bills on Thursday to repeal various tax handouts for so-called “renewable energy sources,” electric vehicles, and the ethanol industry – the Restoring Energy Market Freedom Act, the Restoring Fuel Market Freedom Act, and the Restoring Vehicle Freedom Act.

“We’ve got to get the federal government out of every facet of our lives and let the free market stand on its own, said Rep. Perry. “The American Public doesn’t need our tax dollars used to prop up these industries.

Repealing various market-distorting Green New Deal tax credits that misallocate resources to special interests that aren’t competitive without handouts has been and will continue to be a top priority for Congressman Perry. The Restoring Energy Market Freedom Act repeals tax handouts for so-called renewable energy sources, the Restoring Fuel Market Freedom Act repeals tax handouts for the ethanol industry, and the Restoring Vehicle Market Freedom Act repeals tax handouts for electric vehicles.

Congress must end handouts and restore sanity to our energy, fuel, and vehicle sectors, allowing the markets to work before being disrupted to the point of shortages and bankruptcies.

Cosponsors for the Restoring Energy Market Freedom Act include Representatives Andy Biggs (AZ-05), Andy Ogles (TN-05), and Chip Roy (TX-21). Cosponsors for the Restoring Fuel Market Freedom Act include Representatives Eric Burlison (MO-7) and Andy Ogles (TN-05). Cosponsors for the Restoring Vehicle Freedom Act include Representatives Eli Crane (AZ-2-) and Andy Ogles (TN-05).
