So, as the Governor works to reopen the economy and to help us get back to our normal lives, leftists like this continue to play nasty politics with this whole thing. I’ve seen it all over the place. They are telling the Governor that these deaths are on her hands because she didn’t issue a shelter-in-place and then she opened the economy too early (in their view). This is absolute garbage and the left should be ashamed of themselves for continuing to attack her for wanting people to get their freedoms and jobs back.

Yes, I’ve been on the Governor’s staff for a while now wanting things to be opened back up. I was very upset with the initial proclamation that closed in-person church services. But, I also know and feel as if I must relate how much pressure she was under to close way more than she did. There is a large portion of the state that wanted her to act like the tyrannical governor of Michigan and shut everything, everywhere down. She didn’t. She got beat up for it. She still does.

She later recognized that we were ready to move on and began reopening businesses and in-person church services (even acknowledging the constitutional issues at hand there). The left lost their mind. She opens more businesses, and the left keeps vilifying and attacking her. She holds her ground and continues to make the argument to reopen our economy and to get Iowans their lives and freedoms back.

I know many are upset about this whole thing, I certainly am, but do realize the tremendous pressure she has been under by the left. Go read some of these articles being published around the state by our mainstream newspapers here, and look at the attacks being lobbed at her if you don’t believe me. It’s nasty, it’s vicious, and I for one am happy we have a Governor willing to take these bullets while she works to do the right thing right now.

God Bless our Governor and our great state!
