As an American, I can criticize my government and not be punished by that government.  It is a freedom that each American enjoys.  In the last few weeks, I have criticized the Biden Administration for its ineptness and inadequacies.  Unlike China, where criticizing the government is met with punishments, our system of freedom of speech should be encouraged.

Yet, when 84 percent of Americans are opposed to the fact that the Biden Administration left Americans in Afghanistan and there is no condemnation from the leaders of Iowa’s Democrat Party, we have to question those leaders’ intent.  People like Cindy Axne, Abby Finkenhauer, Ross Willburn, Dave Muhlbauer, Ras Smith, Deidre DeJear, Rob Sand, Zach Wahls, and Jennifer Konfrst have said nothing about leaving Americans to their fate in Afghanistan or the failures of the Biden Administrations actions in Afghanistan.

Those failures in foreign policy are unlike any other that I can think of in my life except one, that will have long-reaching repercussions for years to come, if not generations to come.  The one failure that I am thinking that might equal this failure in foreign policy is when President Jimmy Carter sent a military force into Iran to attempt to rescue American hostages that ended in disaster.

Nobody knows for sure how many Americans and Afghanis who helped Americans and who were promised to be brought to the U.S. were left in Afghanistan.  The Biden Administration puts the number at 200 but other sources put the number into the thousands.  As a member of the military, I was always taught that we don’t leave anyone behind, and I am appalled by this blatant disregard for American life.

The administration simply stated that those Americans and Afghani’s knew for a long time that this was the date and should have planned for a way out.  This is simply an ignorant statement from the Biden Administration who either doesn’t know the situation on the ground in Afghanistan or they are expecting Americans to simply take that explanation and forget about those left behind.

Not only did we leave Americans behind we left American equipment and weapons behind as well.  From my first days in basic training, I was taught that you never leave something behind for your enemy to use.  We were taught how to destroy our equipment in case we need to leave it behind.  Why were billions of dollars worth of equipment and weapons left behind for the Afghanis?

It’s doubtful that the Afghan Army will be able to use and maintain our equipment because they simply do not have the discipline that our military does but that won’t stop Afghanistan from using the equipment as props for a public relations push.  It also does not stop them from selling the intact equipment to countries like China, Iran, and Russia who will be able to take our technology, which gives us an advantage on the world stage, and duplicate it or learn how to best counteract or destroy it.

If the people, I mentioned above refuse to stand with Iowans in favor of supporting their party elites in D.C. then how can these Iowans possibly think they can lead Iowa?  Iowans deserve leaders who will stand up to the elites and do what is right versus what is right for their party.  One thing that Iowans and Americans that we should take for granted is that our government will protect us and that didn’t happen in this instance.
