As we emerge from the June 2nd primary, the time has come for us to stand together as one united Republican Party. The voters have spoken, and now our focus must shift from competition within our ranks to defeating the liberal agenda that threatens our freedoms, our families, and our future here in Iowa.
I have always believed that our strength lies in unity. No single candidate or faction can carry this fight alone. We need every Republican, whether your preferred candidate won or lost the primary, to rally behind our nominees. The stakes are too high for anything less.
Ronald Reagan, one of our greatest presidents, reminded us of this truth: “The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally – not a 20 percent traitor”. That wisdom rings as true today as it did then. Our Republican primary winners are not perfect, but they are far more aligned with our conservative values than any Democrat on the ballot. They are our 80% friends, and it’s time we treat them as such.
Let me be clear: Holding grudges or sitting on the sidelines helps no one except our opponents. Whether you supported a different candidate in the primary, I ask you to put aside any disappointment and join the team. Our nominees need your enthusiasm, your volunteer hours, your financial support, and most importantly, your vote in November. Every door knocked, every yard sign placed, and every conversation had with neighbors advances our shared cause of limited government, strong families, secure communities, and economic opportunity.
Iowa cannot afford to sit on the sidelines and allow any sort of Democrat rule. Sky-high taxes, failing schools, rising crime, and radical policies will hurt working families across our state if we do. Our Republican candidates offer a better path forward, and they deserve our full-throated support.
To those who won their primaries, congratulations. I look forward to campaigning alongside you.
To those who ran hard but came up short, thank you. Your ideas strengthened our party, and we need your continued leadership.
To every Republican voter, now is the moment to unify.
Let’s show Iowa what Republican unity looks like. Let’s recommit ourselves to the principles that define us: freedom, responsibility, and prosperity for all. Together, we will win in November and deliver the results our state desperately needs.
If you’d like to get involved in the general election effort, volunteer, or learn more about our candidates, please reply to this email or visit our campaign website, www.willsforiowa.com. There is a place for every one of you in this fight.
As a reminder, here is what the Republican controlled House, Senate, and Governor has given you in the last 10 years…
Income Tax Cuts (the biggest in State history)
Students First Act, Education Savings Accounts
Fetal Heartbeat Abortion Ban
Permit less Carry/Constitutional Carry
Right to Keep and Bear Arms Constitutional Amendment
Property Tax Relief
Religious Freedom Protections
School Staff Armed Security
Immigration Enforcement Enhancements
Reformed State government by cutting 18 state Departments
These are a few of the bills that reflect our conservative values, make our state smaller and smarter, and honor our conservative principles. This is what we can continue if we unify and become focused on winning at the polls in November.
Onward to victory!
