Name: Phil High, Republican

Office/District: State Representative District 95

Hometown: Marion

Profession: Business owner

Why running for office: “I feel called to serve, I enjoy that. As a business owner, I’ve been in business for about 50 years and I’ve been a firefighter/paramedic for 38 years. I’ve retired from that and I think this is the next step in my call for service.

“Not specifically. I’m a fiscally conservative Republican. The Second Amendment is very important to me. It protects your First Amendment and I think it protects the rest of the amendments.”
