Representative Jon Jacobsen claimed a historic victory in Iowa House District 22 on Tuesday night. Jacobsen retained his seat with 13,306 votes (69.46 percent). His Democrat challenger, Shawna Anderson, finished with 5,837 votes (30.47 percent).

This is believed to be the largest landslide in the district’s history, even dating back to when it was District 98 and District 83 before that.

It is also believed that the 13,306 votes are the highest vote total for any candidate in history of the district.

Turnout was exceptionally high as well – around 85 percent.
