The National Restaurant Association said one in six restaurants in America has closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s what a survey of 6,000 restaurants across the U.S. revealed.

If that number is true, it would mean 110,000 restaurants were forced to close due to the Coronavirus.

Those restaurants that closed had been open for 16 years and employed 32 people, on average. Again, if accurate and when scaled nationally, that would result in three million lost jobs.

According to the National Restaurant Association, without additional relief, 37 percent of the remaining restaurants will be forced to close in the next six months.
