The Republican Nationaln Committee is wishing Democrat Congresswoman Cindy Axne a “Happy National Flip Flop Day.”
The RNC notes Axne began her “Flip-Flop Day” festivities by consistently denying or downplaying inflation over the past year, citing the following examples:
- In June 2021, Axne claimed that “we’re not even remotely close to a point to say that we’re at rising inflation.”
- Then Axne called inflation concerns a “false advertisement” because “our economy is on a great track right now.”
- As recently as September, Axne again downplayed inflation as mere “pricing issues” that will get better.
However, as inflation continued to smash new records and earned its status as a top issue for voters, Axne flipped.
“Axne finally flip flopped. Inflation stopped being “transitory ” and is now something worth addressing – it only took a year of suffering for Axne to break from the Biden White House’s approved talking points,” the RNC said.
