It looks like Joe Biden’s attempt to reignite his campaign in Iowa will start the same way he left it – with no staff on the ground to speak of. After a disappointing caucus night that left his staffers to pack up shop, Biden’s decision to make a virtual appearance at the Iowa Democrats Hall of Fame celebration will be his first since leaving the state in February. In addition to ignoring Iowa for months, Biden’s decision to stream yet another speech from his basement bunker serves as a reminder of how unprepared the Democrats are for the general – and how Republicans never left.

A new report from Bloomberg highlights the inadequacies of Joe Biden’s ground game less than five months out from Election Day with their campaign hiring just two state director – in Arizona and Virginia. Meanwhile, Trump Victory’s campaign in Iowa has already made more than a million voter contacts during the 2020 cycle and has continued to build its army of volunteers since 2016.

Bottom Line: While Joe Biden has yet to show that he’s taking Iowa seriously in 2020, Trump Victory has continued to build a community of organizers across the state that will work to elect Republican up and down the ticket.
