Representative Chip Roy(R-TX-21) and Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) introduced legislation on Friday to require the Department of Health and Human Services to release their data on vaccine development, masks, COVID-19 origins and the pandemic at large.

This legislation, The HHS COVID-19 Origin Transparency Act of 2023, will force the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to release all documents on the origins of COVID-19, vaccine development, masks and the pandemic overall. Should the department refuse to comply, HHS will pay $1 million per day to pay down the federal budget deficit.

Representative Roy said, “The ‘public health’ regime continues to conceal the truth regarding the origins of COVID-19, vaccine development, masks, and the pandemic as a whole. The American people deserve to know the truth and to examine these documents with their own eyes. This legislation will cut through the bureaucratic stonewalling and let the American people finally seek the truth wherever it may lead.”

Senator Marshall commented, “The world and the American people deserve to know the truth about the origins of Covid-19, China’s involvement, and the ongoing cover-up. Yet, here we are after YEARS of asking for the Biden Administration to provide this much-needed transparency and they continue to stonewall our investigations and find ‘work arounds’ to dodge our requests. Every American should be asking, ‘Why is that?’ Our legislation requires the HHS to publicly release all agency records related to the origins of COVID-19, the cover-up of the pandemic origins, and coronavirus research, including vaccine development. It’s past time for answers- this is a matter of national security.”

Co-sponsors for this legislation include Representatives Ralph Norman (R-SC-5), Josh Brecheen (R-OK-2), Paul Gosar (R-AZ-9), Andy Biggs (R-AZ-2), and Barry Moore (R-AL-2) and Republican Senators Ted Cruz (TX), Cynthia Lummis (WY), and Mike Braun (IN).
