The House voted on police reform Thursday, but Rep. Axne couldn’t be bothered to show up for her constituents. Instead, she turned her back on Iowans across the state who have been demanding action.

Just like she’s getting students from the West Coast to do her campaign work, she’s handing the third district’s vote off to Maryland liberal Rep. Jamie Raskin.

Iowa taxpayers elected her to be their voice and cast important votes, but as the House takes up legislation on police reform and D.C. statehood, she continues to hide from Iowans. Now that she has taken the day off, her constituents deserve to know what she is doing that is more important than taking their voices to the halls of Congress.
