Rugby Sliger, a lifelong North Iowa resident, announced his candidacy for State Representative in Iowa House District 59.

“I was raised in North Iowa, and now it’s my turn to stand up for the families who are working hard just to keep up,” said Rugby Sliger. “I’m running because working parents, young families, and blue-collar Iowans deserve a strong voice in Des Moines, someone who understands rising property taxes, rising childcare costs, rising grocery bills and the pressure of providing for a family.”

Sliger lives in Mason City with his wife, Arianna, and their children, Ayda (4) and Ryder (3), with another child on the way. He works for the City of Nora Springs as a public works employee and previously ran for City Council in Mason City, fighting for residents of District 59.

We need leadership that lowers costs responsibly, protects taxpayers and keeps our communities strong for the next generation,” continued Rugby Sliger. “I’m not a career politician, I’m a working dad who believes the government should live within its means, listen to the people, and focus on what truly matters.”

Rugby announced his candidacy for Iowa House District 59 on March with his wife, Arianna, and their two kids.

Rugby is ready to listen, lead, and fight for District 59 in the State Legislature in Des Moines, Iowa.
