The Salt Lake Tribune wrote a column on Jan. 15 that is shocking. And it isn’t the idea of one isolated liberal reporter or columnist — it’s the Salt Lake Tribune’s editorial board.
It’s nuts.
The paper said if the Salt Lake County Council overturned the county’s mask mandate — which came within a single vote — it would have been “tragic.”
The paper said “individually and collectively” getting two — then three — doses of the vaccine “is absolutely the correct advice.”
The paper admits viruses tend to mutate into “less potent” but more easily transmissible variants — which it says it what has happened.
If Utah were what the paper called a “truly civilized place,” its governor would mandate “the kind of mass vaccination campaign we should have launched a year ago.”
“Going as far as to deploy the National Guard to ensure that people without proof of vaccination would not be allowed, well, anywhere,” the paper wrote. “But it may be too late for that, politically and medically.”
That’s a heck of an idea — send the military to police the unvaccinated.
And it fits right in with today’s Democrat Party.
