One of the highlights from Friday’s hearing was an exchange between Congressmen Devin Nunes and Adam Schiff.

Nunes attempted to yield his time to Congresswoman Elise Stefanik.

“I’ll yield to you Ms. Stefanik,” Nunes said.

“Thank you Mr. Nunes,” Stefanik said.

Schiff quickly ordered Stefanik to suspend her comments.

Schiff said Nunes is only allowed to yield his time to counsel.

“The ranking member yielded time to another member of Congress,” Stefanik said.

“Nope. That is not accurate,” Schiff replied.

Stefanik attempted to continue, but Schiff shut her down.

“This is the fifth time you have interrupted duly elected members of Congress,” Stefanik said.

Nunes noted that it has been customary to the committee that whoever controls the time can yield to whoever they wish.

“If we have members of Congress that have a few questions, it seems appropriate that we be able to let Ms. Stefanik ask her question,” Nunes said.

Schiff simply said Nunes or minority counsel are recognized.
