As we return to the Iowa State Capitol for another legislative session, I want to take a moment to thank you for the trust you’ve placed in me to represent our communities here in the Iowa Senate. It’s an honor and a responsibility I don’t take lightly.

I’m excited to be back at work, continuing the conversations we began last year — strengthening Iowa’s economy, supporting our schools, protecting our farmers, and ensuring our state remains a great place to work, live, and raise a family.

Over the next few months, I’ll be focused on several key priorities:

  • Economic Growth: Encouraging small business investment and job creation in rural Iowa.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Keeping government efficient and ensuring taxpayers see real results from their hard-earned dollars.
  • Agriculture & Rural Development: Protecting the backbone of our state’s economy and supporting policies that help family farms thrive.
  • Strong Families & Communities: Building programs that strengthen education, safety, and opportunity across Iowa.
  • Fight Inflation: The decline of the dollar due to rising federal debt, massive fraud, and unrestrained spending requires a solution like a State Gold Currency, for which I will continue to advocate.

Standing Up for Property Rights:

One issue that continues to be a top priority for me is protecting the property rights of Iowa landowners. I remain firmly opposed to the use of eminent domain for carbon capture pipelines. Private land should never be taken for corporate gain, and I will continue to fight to ensure that our laws honor that Constitutional principle.

During this legislative session, I will keep working with my colleagues to strengthen the protections for landowners and to ensure that any infrastructure project in Iowa respects individual rights, our rural communities, and the rule of law. This isn’t just about pipelines; it’s about upholding the freedoms that make Iowa strong and ensuring government serves the people, not private interests.

New Committee Assignments:

This session, unfortunately I will no longer be serving on the Agriculture, State Government, and Workforce Committees. I remain on Health and Human Services, Technology, and Veterans Affairs and was added to Local Government. While I will miss the important work of those previous committees, I am very committed to continuing my service to Iowans with every afforded opportunity.

Let Me Hear from You:

As always, I value hearing directly from you. Your input guides my work at the Capitol and helps shape legislation that reflects our shared values and priorities.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office — whether you have a concern, a suggestion, or a story to share. Together, we can keep Iowa moving forward.

Thank you again for the opportunity to serve. I look forward to another productive session ahead.
