U.S. Senator Joni Ernst posted a couple of photos on Twitter Tuesday evening from a supper with Vice President Kamala Harris as well as her fellow female U.S. Senators.
Ernst said she “had a great time with my fellow female senators this evening! Thanks for hosting us, (Vice President Harris). Cheers!”
Democrat Sen. Kyrsten Sinema was the only Democrat Senator to skip the dinner. Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith of Mississippi and Sen. Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming also skipped the dinner.
Sinema’s office did not offer comment when asked about her absence, but President Joe Biden criticized both Sinema and Sen. Joe Manchin last week. Biden accused both Democrats of voting more with Republicans.
