Name: Ken Rozenboom, Republican (incumbent)

Office/District: State Senate District 40

Hometown: Oskaloosa

Profession: Farming

Why running for office: “I simply think I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing right now and I feel like I have more work to do in that environment. That’s why I’m running. It’s nothing more simple or elaborate than that. I just feel like that is the right thing to do right now.

“We still have work to do on pro-life issues. That’s very important to me. The other one is simply my work on water quality as chair of the Natural Resources Environment committee. I’ve learned a great deal about that in the last eight years and we have more work to do on that as well. So, those are the two things that come to mind right off the top of my head.”
