Are you ready for a future without state income taxes?
This week, our Iowa Senate Republican Caucus unveiled our bold plan to free Iowans from the burden of income taxes.
First, we will eliminate the state tax on retirement incomes, including pensions and annuities.
At the same time, we’ll start reducing and flattening the personal income tax so that ALL Iowans will pay a flat tax rate of 3.6% by 2027.
We’ll also restructure the state taxpayer relief fund into a new fund dedicated to eventually eliminating the state income tax forever.
This plan will save taxpayers up to $2 billion each year.
Thanks to the budget surpluses we have created through sound fiscal policy, we will still be able to fully fund all state priorities like education, transportation, and mental health.
The liberals say we can’t afford these tax cuts.
The truth is, we’re at a point where we can’t afford NOT to.
