Some big issues will be tackled Wednesday in Iowa Senate subcommittees. One bill would reinstate the death penalty in limited situations while another involves education savings grants.

SF 347: Senate File 347 was filed by Sen. Mariannette Miller-Meeks. It’s an act relating to pharmacy benefit managers and health carriers and management of prescription drug benefits.

SF 216: Senate File 216 was filed by Sen. Chris Cournoyer. It’s an act relating to demolition reserves on fire and casualty claims on real property located within a city and requesting an interim study on such reserves.

SSB 1194: Senate Study Bill 1194 was proposed by Sen. Jake Chapman. It’s an act relating to the use of gasification and pyrolysis facilities for the conversion of certain recoverable waste materials.

SF 297: Senate File 297 was filed by Sen. Jerry Behn. It’s an act relating to the individual income tax by creating a tax credit for community college students pursuing a credential leading to a high-demand occupation.

SSB 1202: Senate Study Bill 1202 was proposed by Sen. Jake Chapman. It’s an act relating to timely submission of claims by health care providers to health insurers.

SJR 8: Senate Joint Resolution 8 was proposed by Sen. Zach Whiting. It’s a resolution proposing an amendment to the Iowa Constitution relating to the rights of a crime victim.

SSB 1046: Senate Study Bill 1046 was proposed by the Governor. it’s a joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Iowa Constitution regarding the qualifications of electors.

The amendment provides that a person who is convicted of a felony is not entitled to the privileges of an elector until that person discharges his or her sentence.

SF 204: Senate File 204 was filed by Sen. Zach Nunn. It’s an act providing for an affirmative defense to certain claims relating to personal information security breach protection.

SSB 1197: Senate Study Bill 1197 was proposed by the Governor. It’s an act relating to mental health and disability services, including the establishment of a children’s behavioral health system and a children’s behavioral health system state board.

SF 361: Senate File 361 was filed by Sen. Waylon Brown. It’s an act relating to siting and operation of certain wind energy conversion facilities.

SSB 1189: Senate Study Bill 1189 was proposed by Sen. Mariannette Miller-Meeks. It’s an act relating to tobacco cessation services under the Medicaid program.

SF 374: Senate File 374 was filed by Sen. Jason Schultz. It’s an act relating to taking coyotes while using an artificial source of light.

SSB 1201: Senate Study Bill 1201 was proposed by Sen. Jake Chapman. It’s an act relating to electric utility rates and infrastructure support options for private generation customers.

SF 201: Senate File 201 was filed by Sen. Waylon Brown. It’s an act relating to the boards and commissions of the state.

SSB 1214: Senate Study Bill 1214 was introduced by Sen. Amy Sinclair. It’s a concurrent resolution establishing a fine arts program interim study committee.

SF 370: Senate File 370 was filed by Sen. Tim Kapucian. It’s an act relating to the use of certain pesticides by providing for a fee license, the establishment of a fund and making appropriations.

SSB 1212: Senate Study Bill 1212 was proposed by Sen. Roby Smith. It’s an act relating to the power of cities to regulate certain building restrictions.

SSB 1213: Senate Study Bill 1213 was proposed by Sen. Roby Smith. It’s an act relating to alternative project delivery contract methods for government entities.

SF 372: Senate File 372 was filed by Sen. Jerry Behn. It’s an act relating to education savings grants for pupils attending a nonpublic school or receiving competent private instruction, establishing an education savings grant fund, providing an income tax exemption, making appropriations, providing penalties and including applicability provisions.

SSB 1216: Senate Study Bill 1216 was proposed by Sen. Jake Chapman. It’s an act concerning alcoholic beverage control, relating to limitations on business interests of certain manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers of alcoholic beverages.
