Iowa House Republican women filed an amendment Saturday that would require a 24-hour waiting period for abortions. The amendment was added to House File 594, otherwise known as Alfie’s Law.

Representatives Shannon Lundgren, Sandy Salmon, Jane Bloomingdale, Anne Osmundson, Ashley Hinson, Linda Upmeyer and Holly Brink filed the amendment.

We will update the story as it develops. Pro-Life Iowans have grown frustrated with the House Republicans for their failure to vote in support of a constitutional amendment that would state there is no right to an abortion or taxpayer funding of abortion in the Iowa Constitution.
