Shivers enters the race with a clear mission: to defend the families, freedoms, and faith that make Iowa strong. Rooted in Iowa soil and grounded in the founding principles of our Republic, she brings both real-world and legislative experience—and a fresh energy—to the challenges facing Iowans today.
“For nearly fifteen years, I’ve stood shoulder to shoulder with survivors of sex trafficking, parents, and everyday Iowans,” Shivers said. “I’ve seen how quickly our homes, our freedoms, and even our children’s innocence can be lost when government forgets its limits. I’m running because Iowa’s families deserve a voice that won’t be silenced. I am prepared to fight for them every step of the way.”
Shivers has worked alongside lawmakers at the Capitol to draft and advance legislation protecting trafficking survivors, strengthening families, and upholding constitutional freedoms. That firsthand experience has equipped her to confront rising threats to children, parental rights, and local communities.
“But experience alone is not enough,” Shivers added. “I bring new energy and a strong commitment to stand firm—no backing down, no going along to get along. Iowans deserve someone who will meet every challenge with conviction and persistence.”
A defender of parental authority, Shivers believes parents—not bureaucrats—are responsible for directing their children’s education and upbringing. She supports bold, practical approaches to education that empower families and preserve choice.
Shivers is also calling for meaningful property tax reform. “Homeownership is the cornerstone of the American Dream,” she said. “If you’ve paid for your land and your home, you should truly own them—not rent them back from the government. Ownership should be honored, not punished.”
As a homesteader, she understands the importance of protecting farmland and preserving Iowa’s way of life for future generations. As a mother, she stands unwaveringly for life—from conception to natural death.
