According to a new poll, 15 percent of registered voters believe America is better off now that Charlie Kirk was killed. That includes 22 percent of Democrats and 26 percent of voters under the age of 35.
Last year, 17 percent of registered voters said it would have been better if President Donald J. Trump had been killed by his alleged attempted assassin.
According to the Napolitan Institute, the desensitization to politicalv iolence in America following the Kirk assassination is “alarming and telling” about the state of our country.
“The fact that any number of the population views such extreme events with any degree of indifference or even approval challenges our nation’s ability to maintain a civil and respectful political environment,” the organization said in a statement.
In addition to the 15 percent of registered voters who said the country is better now that Kirk has been killed, 18 percent said they were not sure. Just 67 percent of those polled said America is not better off.
