From the Iowa Catholic Conference

The House of Representatives is going to vote next week on a funding bill that would lead to your tax dollars paying for abortion. Unfortunately the bill currently excludes the Hyde Amendment.

Your representative needs to hear from you! Please sign the petition and spread the word in any way you can before next Monday, July 26.

The U.S. bishops support the Hyde Amendment and similar policies that prevent taxpayer dollars from being spent on elective abortions. It is critical for members to hear from constituents, whether you think they are for or against.

Taxpayer-funded abortion is not a one-party issue. The Hyde Amendment has been signed into law every year since 1976, whether the Congress and the White House were led by Republicans or Democrats.

In addition to signing the petition, you can click on this link today to edit and send a message to our members of Congress. Thanks for your consideration.
