The campaign of Jim Carlin, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, today publicly reiterated its request for a substantive debate with opponent U.S. Rep. Ashley Hinson ahead of the Iowa GOP primary.
On February 17, the Carlin campaign sent a formal debate invitation to Rep. Hinson to debate in front of Iowa Republican voters ahead of the June primary. To date, the campaign has received no response.
Iowans are grappling with serious challenges that demand real solutions: skyrocketing costs, threats to family farms from foreign land purchases, and the need to hold pharmaceutical companies liable for vaccine injuries. These critical issues require substantive discussion, not avoidance.
“Candidate debates strengthen our democratic process and empower voters to make informed decisions,” Carlin stated. “The question is whether Rep. Hinson is willing to publicly defend her record or just rely on her endorsements and donors.”
