The Heritage Foundation noted Monday that: “Biden reversed many Trump-era policies that stemmed the tide of illegal immigration into the United States. As a result, convicted‐criminal‐alien encounters—including assaults, rapes, & homicides—have *spiked* during Biden’s first two years in office.”
The Heritage Foundation’s data, which you can view here, shows a massive increase in Border Patrol encounters of criminal aliens with criminal convictions.
For example, in fiscal year 2019, there were 58 criminal aliens with sex offense convictions encountered at the border. In fiscal year 2022, there were 365 criminal aliens with a sex offense conviction encountered at the border — a 529 percent increase.
In fiscal year 2019, there were 2 criminal aliens with homicide or manslaughter convictions encountered at the border. In fiscal year 2022, there were 62 criminal aliens with homicide or manslaughter convictions encountered at the border, according to the Heritage Foundation. That is a whopping 3000 percent increase.
President Trump secured the border once and he will do it again. President Trump wrote Monday: “Two years ago we had the strongest and safest Border in U.S. history. Hundreds of miles of Walls were built, my “Stay In Mexico” Policy was working fantastically, Title 42 was in full force and effect, Border Patrol and ICE were doing an incredible, tough, yet compassionate, job, and our Southern Border was, for the first time in decades, being spoken of in glowing terms. People weren’t even making the long hard journey up through Mexico. NOW OUR BORDER IS THE WORST IN HISTORY, & GETTING WORSE!”
