The Adam Steen for Governor campaign is proud to announce the hiring of Rob Peters as Campaign Manager. A lifelong Iowan, Peters brings over seven years of proven grassroots and campaign leadership experience to the team.
Peters began his political career in 2018 helping Governor Kim Reynolds defeat Fred Hubbell to ensure Iowa remained red. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to build relationships with county party leaders, drive volunteer engagement, and execute some of the state’s most extensive voter contact operations.
Most recently, Peters served as Director of Grassroots Operations for Americans for Prosperity–Iowa, where he led community engagement efforts on public policy issues such as income tax reduction, school choice, and occupational licensing reform. Under his leadership, AFP–Iowa’s grassroots teams oversaw millions of voter contacts in both primary and general election cycles.
Peters’ track record includes helping to flip Iowa’s First Congressional District from blue to red with Congresswoman Ashley Hinson’s victory and reelection, as well as playing key roles in the reelections of Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Congressman Zach Nunn in tough political years. He has also helped elect or re-elect dozens of state lawmakers whose victories paved the way for conservative reforms, including Iowa’s flat tax, Education Savings Accounts, and regulatory reforms that continue to move Iowa forward.
