On Wednesday, December 4, at 10:15 a.m., the Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education chaired by Rep. Aaron Bean (R-FL), will hold a hearing titled “Back to Basics: America’s Founding, Civics, and Self-Government in K-12 Curricula.”
“School districts across the country have lost the plot. Instead of focusing on the basics of history and the founding of America, teachers and administrators have taken it upon themselves to indoctrinate the youngest students with terms like ‘slavocracy,’ radical ideology about sexuality, and discriminatory lessons about Israelis as ‘colonial settlers,’” said Chairman Bean. “We need to get back to the basics. That means curricula that promote the importance of an accurate depiction of American history, civics, and a free exchange of ideas.”
