My name is Steven Kenney Jr. and I am the organizer of Protest Alliant, which is being held on Saturday, March 16th in front of Alliant Tower in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

I heard about the 25 percent rate hike that was being done by Alliant on top of several rate hikes that they had already passed on to customers over the last couple of years. Overall, the purpose of this event is for dissatisfied and angry customers to voice their outrage against a greedy company that doesn’t care about their customers and it’s also about speaking out against the Iowa Utilities Board being able to approve rate hikes when it should be up to the people of Iowa to approve things such as this that increase the burden on already struggling people.

This is hopefully going to get our state lawmakers to see that we are willing to stand in unity despite whatever our differences may be and we wish that they would better represent our wishes.
