Summit Carbon Solutions released the following statement after the Iowa House State Government Committee amended and passed SF 2022.

“Summit Carbon Solutions’ project will transform the agricultural and ethanol industries across the region. This substantial investment will allow future generations of farmers to continue to enjoy strong corn prices and land values for decades to come. Since late last year, we have been working closely with Iowa landowners to start the process of securing voluntary easements and are encouraged by the response.

In that time, Summit Carbon Solutions has worked in partnership with landowners to sign easements on more than 100 miles of the proposed route in Iowa. Additionally, we are currently finalizing agreements that include an additional 70 miles of the proposed route in the state. We understand this is a deliberative process and look forward to continuing constructive and informative conversations with landowners.

These ongoing interactions demonstrate that the system designed by the legislature and overseen by the Iowa Utilities Board is working and working well. Summit Carbon Solutions looks forward to continuing to work with the members and staff of the Iowa Utilities Board under the current regulatory framework.”
