Concerning the CO2 pipelines being promoted in Iowa, the wrong question is being asked. Whether or not the government has the right to use eminent domain is not the question. The focus should be on whether or not the government has the right to force their Climate Change agenda on us and make us pay for it.

What if the pipeline companies paid every landowner $1,000,000 to cross their land and then were able to avoid eminent domain? If they get to charge it all back to taxpayers then what is it to them? There is no worry about how much this is going to cost and who is going to pay for it, only how they are going to make landowners and the rest of Iowa play the game.

I know they will say there is only a set amount they can take from the public coffers but come on- they never told anyone that we were going to pay for 100% of the wind turbines either. In fact, they said our rates would decrease and they increased instead. It was quite a boon for our utility companies to both have us pay for the turbines and then a guaranteed 11.5% rate of return on their upkeep.

These pipelines are effectively decreasing the value of our corn by making us pay to make ethanol more palatable to the Climate Agenda. My goodness, how did our forefathers ever survive or make a living off of the land without this great boatload of money-sucking legislation that is labeled “for our own good”?

America is getting poorer because we trust in Government. Did you not hear that the Bible tells us that God will provide for us if we follow Him? Read Matthew 6:25-34. Pray for understanding. The whole world screams at us, telling us what we should do, what we should not do. The government makes thousands upon thousands of laws that the lawmakers and lawyers can hardly figure out. Maybe we should return to the original 10 which can be summed up as two-

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31

This is why our forefathers came here. They came across the ocean to run from tyranny, to depend on God. We have allowed tyranny to reign once again. It is time to return to God.
