When we rely on the government for our livelihood then we are controlled by the government. All across our government headlines, we see wrangling for policy changes to benefit one group of people over another. There is one huge pot of tax money to haggle over day in and day out.
All the thoughts behind these policies are based on fear. Our greatest fear is usually not having enough money and we fear losing our lives through sickness or Climate Change. We used to fear losing our freedoms but more and more people are willing to exchange their freedom for security, even if it is a false security.
We have had a lot of fear thrown at us this last year. Fear ruled our schools, many of our homes, all of our relationships, all of our social interactions. Fear changed policy and fear changed laws. Fear brought on riots and unrest. Fear is an effective driver for change.  When we are afraid, we are weak. When we are afraid, we are easily manipulated. That is why people are many times equated to sheep. The only way to stop the cycle of fear is to have a sure reason not to fear. We have been given that Way through God’s Word.
I am not, NOT talking about religion. Religion is often as corrupt and Godless as our government.
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” I John 4:18
When we trust God as our Father who loves us enough to die for us, trust Him as our provider, as our protector then we will have no fear. Trusting God is faith and it is an ongoing process. We learn faith like we learn other things, through practice. The Bible is full of instances where God miraculously provides for people that trust in Him.
I know, many will scoff at this. I may have scoffed at it during different seasons of my life but if this word does not make sense to you then it is not for you at this time or maybe ever.  There are some who seek escape, seek freedom, seek release from the tyranny of society. This word is for them. Jesus is the way of escape; He is the voice of freedom. Trust Him.
