On Wednesday, The American Border Story (TABS) released the following statement commending Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem for her hands-on leadership in a Minneapolis immigration enforcement operation that resulted in the arrest of a dangerous fugitive:
“Secretary Noem consistently demonstrates what active and effective leadership looks like. Just yesterday, she took to the streets with ICE agents in Minneapolis to arrest more than 150 criminal illegal aliens. Among them was Tomas Espin Tapia, a dangerous criminal and sexual predator wanted for murder in Ecuador.
Tapia has a long and sordid criminal record, including an active warrant for sexual assault in Connecticut. Nevertheless, the Biden Administration deemed him suitable for release into the United States. This was a dangerous and negligent decision that put American citizens at risk.
Under President Trump’s direction, Secretary Noem and DHS have made significant progress in restoring safety to our communities by removing criminals like Tapia from the United States. With recent arrests in Minneapolis exceeding 1,000 gang members, pedophiles, rapists, and murderers, TABS commends ICE, DHS, and Secretary Noem for putting themselves in the line of fire to protect innocent Americans.”
