On Thursday, The American Border Story (TABS) released the following statement condemning Governor Kathy Hochul for bragging about harassing ICE agents in New York City:

“One day after a domestic terrorist attack targeting federal law enforcement in Minneapolis, New York Governor Kathy Hochul openly boasted about harassing ICE agents and signaled her intent to pursue legislation that would obstruct the Department of Homeland Security’s efforts in New York. Her remarks were reckless and dangerous. Contrary to her false claims, ICE protects American citizens from violent criminals who were allowed to come into our country during four years of unchecked border failures under the Biden Administration.

Governor Hochul’s rhetoric actively emboldens violent left-wing extremists at a moment when assaults on federal officers are reaching historic highs. As an elected leader, her responsibility is not to undermine law enforcement, but to protect New Yorkers from gang members, rapists, child predators, and murderers.

Laken Riley, Jocelyn Nungaray, Katie Abraham, and tens of thousands of other Americans might still be alive today if Democratic governors like Kathy Hochul had prioritized the safety of U.S. citizens and given the Department of Homeland Security the authority and operational freedom required to enforce the law.”
