The following is a statement from The FAMiLY Leader regarding the Iowa Supreme Court decision from Friday that deals with allowing biological males to use the female restroom and biological females to use the male restroom:

Today, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled that it is illegal discrimination to prohibit women from using men’s restrooms, and men from using women’s restrooms if they identify as the opposite sex.
While we are still reviewing the opinion, this ruling demonstrates why “gender identity” does not belong in the Iowa Civil Rights Code. Our elected officials have a responsibility to ensure that common sense is not illegal in Iowa.
The Iowa General Assembly has time yet this session to correct our law.
