I noticed in my time as a criminal defense attorney that the problem wasn’t just the drugs or the guns, it never stayed just one thing. Once you let evil into the equation, it grows like a cancer. I’ll never forget one case I had, where my client was on trial for drug distribution. The trial was halted when the prosecution’s lead witness was found dead. When this was announced in court, my client looked at me and smirked. A chill ran down my spine, as I realized he just might have had something to do with it.
And so it is with Joe Biden’s open borders policies. Yesterday, the Justice Department announced a guilty verdict against an illegal alien who murdered a whistleblower, a witness, who exposed a multi-million dollar scheme to employ illegal aliens in Georgia. So, you see, it’s not just border jumpers breaking our law, or the fentanyl pouring in. It’s the evil, which like a cancer grows – in this case, into labor trafficking and murder.
Fentanyl is not just illicit drug use. It’s overdoses. People are dying from the record amounts of fentanyl now present in the country because of Joe Biden’s open borders policies, some 75,000 in 2022 alone.
Migrants are also dying at the border from the dangerous trip. Joe Biden’s open borders policies don’t just empower the criminal cartels and human smugglers. The policies result in deaths that otherwise would not have occurred – a record 856 of them in the last 12 months. This evil has produced bloated bodies pulled from the Rio Grande, another torn to bits when hit by a train, and corpses found in open fields with skin and organs nibbled away by animals. Joe Biden’s open borders policies are to blame for this festering problem and growing evil.
Another evil, not getting the attention it used to, is the corruption of border agents and other government officials paid to facilitate illicit activity or look the other way. A human smuggler pled guilty a few days ago to bribing a border agent who had set up a little side business sneaking aliens across the border. The smuggler would tell the agent where to pick the aliens up. The agent got the aliens through border checkpoints without a hitch and delivered them to their destinations in Phoenix. The agent has pled not guilty and goes on trial next year. A newspaper investigation in 2016 found 140 corrupt border officials who were arrested or convicted for acts that compromised their mission of keeping the border secure. I am sure that all of those agents were not compromised when they were first hired, and did not realize they could lose their souls after some time on the job seeing how much money was sloshing around. They were tempted and turned. That’s how evil works. Not a sermon, just an observation based on my almost seven decades on the planet. And now the money is bigger and the temptations are greater, thanks to Joe Biden’s open borders policies.
Some years ago, a person in a position to know told me the corruption even reaches all the way to Washington, D.C. Federal government officials have been paid off, and this is one reason illicit activity at the border has been allowed to continue, my source told me. Given what I know about the D.C. swamp, I wouldn’t doubt it.
So, you see, it’s not just letting too many illegal aliens into the country or the disrespect for law that engenders. It’s the evils that compound from the first evil of opening the border and going outside the nation’s immigration laws. The criminal cartels, the overdose and migrant deaths, the labor trafficking, the corruption of government officials, and other evils are all growing out of Joe Biden’s open borders policies. Nice work, Joe. You traffic in evil and evil spreads like a cancer. Evil begets evil. Eventually, you find there is hell to pay.
