Turning Point USA greatly appreciates the tremendous excitement and support from students for our planned campus tour stop at Iowa State University, which was set to feature Vice President JD Vance and Erika Kirk this Thursday, April 30th.
Unfortunately, Vice President Vance has been forced to cancel his appearance as his attendance is required back in Washington, D.C., this week for critical congressional votes that have been unexpectedly scheduled. Additionally, despite our best efforts, Iowa State University has informed us that, with students now entering prep week and final exams, they are unable to accommodate a rescheduled date later this semester.
To be clear, this is not due to security concerns related to recent events. This is simply a matter of scheduling conflicts.
Here’s the good news: TPUSA will be sending our Iowa State chapter and local student volunteers to Washington, D.C., to meet personally with the Vice President, who has graciously offered to host them as a special thank-you for investing so much time and effort into organizing this event. Our team is actively coordinating these arrangements with our chapter leadership.
While we are disappointed to postpone this event, we are greatly encouraged by the overwhelming student interest it generated and the thousands of you who requested tickets. Turning Point USA remains fully committed to bringing our college tour back to Iowa this upcoming fall semester. We will share more information as soon as event details are finalized.
We look forward to seeing everyone again this fall.
