Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America welcomes the news that the Trump administration will restore millions in Title X family planning funds to Oklahoma and Tennessee that were denied by the Biden administration because the states would not refer for abortion. Previously the Trump administration moved to freeze some Title X funds to groups like Planned Parenthood, pending a review of their practices.

“The Biden administration punished pro-life states for implementing policies that acknowledge abortion is not family planning. The last administration not only weaponized the federal government by withholding Title X family planning funding to punish pro-life states but also funneled billions of dollars to their political backers at Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion business, which takes the lives of nearly 400,000 babies a year,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “We are happy President Trump is righting this backwards policy and hopeful about seeing Big Abortion defunded this year. Abortion is not family planning and the multi-billion-dollar abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood, does not deserve a dime from taxpayers.”

This morning at the U.S. Supreme Court, the state of South Carolina defended its right to exclude abortion businesses from receiving Medicaid taxpayer dollars in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic.

SBA Pro-Life America and more than 150 pro-life groups across all 50 states are lobbying Congress to defund Planned Parenthood and abortion businesses through budget reconciliation. Last week, more than 350 grassroots activists traveled to Capitol Hill to meet with hundreds of congressional offices.
