Following President Trump’s removal of the 232 steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada and Mexico, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business this morning to pressure House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to honor her obligation to pass the United States-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement.

In addition, Ernst discussed her bipartisan bill, the ACCESS Rural America Act, which cuts red tape for rural telecom providers, allowing them to focus on increasing access to high-speed internet for Iowa’s rural communities.

Senator Ernst also shared a story of a young Iowa couple who is facing the difficult choice of finding off-farm employment due to the trade dispute with China. She stressed the need for China to come back, in good-faith, to the negotiating table and reach an agreement on a fair deal with the U.S. soon.
