U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) today visited Kirkwood Community College to meet with President Dr. Lori Sundberg and tour the new Student Center on campus. The renovated Iowa Hall Student Center is opening this fall and will serve as a new space for student services, meeting and study areas, and a campus store.

“Iowa has some of the best colleges and universities in the country, and Kirkwood Community College is one of them,” said Senator Ernst. “Their new student center is a wonderful addition to the campus that will not only help the educational and career goals of their students, but help recruit more young adults to choose Kirkwood.”

“We are very honored to host Senator Ernst on our campus and welcome the opportunity to showcase our new student center dedicated to student success,” said Dr. Sundberg, Kirkwood Community College President. “Kirkwood is making a difference in the lives of so many students and their families in eastern Iowa and we’re grateful we can share that with the Senator. In addition, I appreciate the chance to discuss with her some of the issues facing Kirkwood and other community colleges. We know she is our best advocate in Washington, and look forward to continuing to work with her on all things related to higher education.”
