As a presidential candidate, Joe Biden promised to unite the country. But 64 percent of likely U.S. voters said America has become more divided since the 2020 election.

Just 11 percent believe the country is more united than it was prior to the election.

Fifty-three percent of voters said Biden has done a poor job in terms of uniting America. Thirty percent said Biden is doing an excellent or good job of uniting the U.S.

Rasmussen Reports included in its findings that another campaign by President Donald J. Trump isn’t believed to help unite America as just 31 percent believe another Trump presidential campaign would make the country more united. Forty-three percent said a 2024 Trump campaign would make the U.S. more divided.

While 81 percent of Republicans said America has become more divided since the election, a sizable number of Democrats agree. Forty-eight percent of Democrats and 63 percent of unaffiliated voters said the country is more divided since Election Day.

Even among Democrats, just 16 percent said America is more united. Six percent of Republicans and nine percent of unaffiliated voters agree.

Forty-two percent of Democrats rate Biden as excellent or good when it comes to uniting America, but just 19 percent of unaffiliated voters and 14 percent of Republicans agree.
